Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift revealed that she cut her hand backstage during one of her concerts in Houston over the weekend.
She took to social media to explain the injury to her fans, who had noticed it during her performances. The injury occurred while she was running to a quick change and she tripped on her dress hem in the dark backstage, causing her to fall and brace the fall with her palm.
Despite the injury, Swift assured fans that she was “totally fine” and “waking up smiling reminiscing about how much fun we all had.”
Swift’s Injury
Swift performed three shows at Houston’s NRG Stadium over the weekend as part of her Eras Tour.
During the shows, she sang Wonderland, You’re Not Sorry, A Place in This World, Today Was a Fairytale, Begin Again, and Cold as You for the set’s surprise songs throughout the run.
Fans had noticed the injury and were concerned for the singer’s well-being. However, Swift reassured them that she was fine, and that the injury was her fault completely.
Before her Houston concerts, Swift spent some time in New York City, where she was spotted stepping out for a girls’ night with close friends Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, and Alana, Danielle and Este Haim.
She was photographed walking down the street wearing a black Simkhai minidress with spaghetti straps, black shoes and sunglasses, and a Stella McCartney bag.
The singer has been seen out and about in New York City multiple times over the last few weeks following her breakup with actor Joe Alwyn after six years of dating.
Swift’s Breakup with Joe Alwyn
Swift’s breakup with Alwyn was confirmed on April 8, with sources saying they broke up a few weeks beforehand.
Swift and her ex-boyfriend had been together for six years before the split. Last week, Swift and Lively grabbed dinner with Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds, who, along with the Haim sisters and Swift’s brother Austin, seemingly all unfollowed Alwyn on Instagram following the breakup, per DeuxMoi and eagle-eyed fans.
Swift’s Eras Tour
Swift has been traveling the country for her Eras tour, which has been a huge success with fans. She has been performing songs from all of her previous albums, as well as some new material from her latest album, “Red (Taylor’s Version).”
The singer has been wowing audiences with her performances, and the tour has been a great success. Swift’s upcoming shows at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta this coming weekend are eagerly anticipated by fans.
