The woman, known as @martressler on TikTok, shared a video about a set of four chairs she had bought from Facebook Marketplace three years ago.
She noticed something odd when the seller immediately deleted their Facebook page after the sale, but dismissed it due to the aesthetic appeal of the chairs.
Presenting a photo of her sleek black-and-white patterned contemporary chairs, @martressler revealed an unexpected discovery.
“This is what I saw last night at a South Georgia McDonald’s,” she stated, showing another picture of what seemed to be the exact same chairs in a McDonald’s restaurant.
From a Private Home to a Fast Food Restaurant
As @martressler confirmed the uncanny similarity, it dawned on her and her audience that she had likely purchased chairs stolen from a McDonald’s outlet.
In her viral video, she concluded by apologizing to the fast-food chain and expressing her intention to return the chairs.
However, the comment section of her video was filled with amused users who thought the chairs were quite stylish and didn’t immediately evoke images of a fast-food restaurant.
Some users even suggested she keep the chairs, noting that she did legally purchase them.
Among the varied responses, a couple of users shared that they had Starbucks patio chairs at their homes. One woman explained, “My brother and his friends got drunk and stole a Starbucks patio chair.
They carried it home about four miles. I’ve had it for 10 years. It’s mine.” Another user acknowledged owning similar Starbucks chairs but remained mum on how they acquired them.
