Former California governor and Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently took matters into his own hands by filling in a pothole in his Los Angeles neighborhood. The pothole had been causing damage to cars and bicycles for weeks, and Schwarzenegger had reportedly been “waiting” for three weeks for it to be repaired.
Arnold Schwarzenegger being a hero to neighbors
The Terminator actor posted a video on his social media account of himself and his “team” working up a sweat as they poured concrete into the hole.
In the video, one of his neighbors stopped her car to thank him. Schwarzenegger responded by saying, “You’re welcome. You have to do it yourself. This is crazy. For three weeks I’ve been waiting for this hole to be closed.”
Schwarzenegger’s spokesperson Daniel Ketchell said that residents in the neighborhood made repeated requests to fix the pothole and others in the area after the streets were ravaged by recent storms.
The city has received nearly 20,000 requests to fix potholes since the end of the year.
Mayor Karen Bass announced a plan last week to address the unprecedented damage incurred by Los Angeles streets over the stormy winter.
Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to TV with new show ‘FUBAR’
In addition to filling in potholes, Schwarzenegger is making his scripted, live-action television debut in the new show FUBAR.
The Austrian-born actor and politician will be playing CIA operative Luke Brunner in the Netflix series, which is set to premiere on May 25.
Schwarzenegger says the new show is reminiscent of one of his old films, the 1994 action-comedy True Lies, where he starred alongside Jamie Lee Curtis as a spy believed to be a salesman by his family.
The eight-episode season of FUBAR will span 60 minutes each and will tackle universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action, and humor.
The show has already released a trailer where Schwarzenegger whips around in a BMW sports car, fires guns, smokes a cigar, and purposely utters his infamous “I’m back, baby” line, a nod to his role in the Terminator franchise.
Top Gun: Maverick actress Monica Barbaro will play Schwarzenegger’s daughter in the show, and the additional cast members include Travis Van Winkle, Fortune Feimster, Andy Buckley, Jay Baruchel, Gabriel Luna, Fabiana Udenio, Milan Carter, and Barbara Eve Harris.
Schwarzenegger said that the new show “will kick your a– and make you laugh – and not just for two hours. You get a whole season.
It’s been a joy to work with Nick [Santora, showrunner], Skydance, and Netflix to give my fans exactly what they’ve been waiting for.” Schwarzenegger is also an executive producer for the program, along with Santora.
Showrunner Nick Santora said, “The thing I always marveled at was how Schwarzenegger could be funny while still kicking a–… that’s why I wanted ‘FUBAR’ to be a hysterical, CIA-spy comedy mixed with heart-stopping action!”
